Full Life Community History
Full Life Farm is part of Full Life Community, founded in 2007. The other half of FLC is the Truth and Beauty Laboratory located in downtown Carrollton. Members of Full Life Community are committed to supporting each other in living their dreams and spending their lives in full, vibrant, passionate engagement with life. We base our community on the shared values of art, ecology, activism and community.
FLC started with the purchase of the Truth and Beauty Laboratory in July of 2007. The laboratory consists of a large 100 year old house on an 0.75 acre lot with scuppernog vines, fruit trees, and a growing community garden. The farm is 5.75 acres and was purchased in October 2007. The property is mostly wooded (pine) with approximately 0.75 acres cleared.
In late 2009, Full Life Farm was expanded through the purchase of an additional property, The Haven . This has become the center of the goat rearing activities at the farm, and continues to be developed for increased vegetable production as well. The property is jointly owned by Paul, Terra, Jeff and Annie, who are the four permanent residents at the farm. We also host interns (usually one to three at a time), who help us with work on the farm, while they expand their skills in agriculture, construction, and sustainable lifestyle.
